AP launches dedicated Content Services division in Asia

The Associated Press announced today that it is expanding its AP Content Services division by adding a new office in Japan that will provide dedicated support for clients across Asia.

The AP Content Services group, based in New York and London, works commercially worldwide to create and distribute paid multimedia content on behalf of brands. AP Content Services is separate from the editorial operations of the AP newsroom and the content created does not involve AP editorial staff.

AP Content Services helps companies identify the best content to optimize global effectiveness and reach.

Clients are able to distribute their paid content through the AP distribution network and leverage advertising and sponsorship opportunities, including on the AP News app and apnews.com, to reach audiences around the world.

Ted Mendelsohn, AP vice president for commercial and digital markets, said: “Compelling multimedia storytelling lies at the heart of AP Content Services. Working with the very best talent across the globe, we create the impactful and amplifiable content a brand requires, using video, photos, graphics and text.”

Asia Sales Manager Chie Tsuda will lead the AP Content Services Asia office. An 11-year AP veteran, she has been instrumental in building the AP Content Services offer in Japan, including working with Mie Prefecture to support its tourism drive ahead of the G7 Japan lse-Shima Summit in 2016.

Tsuda said: “There is growing demand among businesses and organizations across the region, especially in the tourism, international event, products and technology sectors, who are keen to reach a global audience with engaging stories using video, photo and text. AP Content Services helps with consultation and advice to identify the right content, story and angle for our clients, in order to optimize global effectiveness.”
